What I Learned From a Social Media Detox

I have a classic love/hate relationship with social media. I see the benefit in the connections that can be made, the opportunities to learn and explore, but I also saw myself falling into the typical pitfalls of time-wasting, mindlessly scrolling and comparison. Tippy Toes continued...

I've shared briefly about E's tip-toe walking and how we found that serial casting was the solution to our problem. When this was suggested, I started trying to find other people's experience through the process and was left with little information.

Saying "No"

I've always been a go-getter personality, someone who has a busy, jam-packed schedule. I don't do well with downtime, and it seems overwhelming to not have a portion of my day planned out. Call it FOMO if you will, but I never want to miss out on an opportunity, event, conversation, etc. I've never been good at saying no & I always want to say yes.

A recent theme that's been coming up in my life is the idea that I need to start saying "no" more in order to say "yes" to the things I really want. In my last post, I shared that I'm participating in a gratitude group & journaling my thoughts each day. Throughout this process, I'm finding myself better able to identify my true priorities and needs.
